Though smaller in scale, Liberia is under a 40-month IMF program with fiscal tightening and structural benchmarks. Capital flows are monitored, and financial integrity reforms are underway. Myanmar presents significant financial and ethical risks to our platform. The country lacks effective regulation to prevent money laundering and other financial crimes, and it has shown limited progress in addressing recommendations from previous FATF evaluations. Oversight of illicit financial flows remains weak, and there is a high risk of corruption, drug trafficking, and organized crime. Additionally, Myanmar continues to face severe internal conflict. Among the complexities of the ongoing civil war, there are documented concerns regarding the involvement of Rohingya Muslim insurgent groups, some of which are reportedly based in Bangladesh. These groups have been linked to regional instability and sectarian violence, including attacks on Buddhist communities. Due to these combined financial, security, and ethical concerns, we have made the decision to block access from Myanmar.
